Newsflash: Tornado Pets Info – Moore, OK

Relaying information to people involved in the Moore, OK tornado yesterday (5/20/13) who are trying to reconnect with their pets. This is a Craigslist ad that we’ve copied and pasted just in case the ad expires.

Tornado Pets Info – Please Read (Moore Shelter-Norman)

Animals found from the Moore tornado-

There has been a lot of information about what is happening with the animals found from the Moore tornado. According to our Animal Welfare, animals from Moore are being taken to the Moore Animal Shelter (405-793-5190) to be logged in.

If they run out of room, they will be taken to the Cleveland County Fairgrounds located at 615 E Robinson in Norman.

The animals that are being picked up by the Department of Agriculture are being taken to Oklahoma City Animal Welfare.

I have also heard that there is a command post with a Vet at the Home Depot in Moore for pets.  They are helping displaced pets.

Also, post signs, place ads and check numerous Facebook pages who are trying to reunite pets.  OKC Pups, McClain County Animal Response Team (lots of pics), Lost-Missing- Found Pets of Norman. Lots of pictures and people willing to help you find your pets.

Items that are needed:

Towels, kitty litter, Purina food for cats and dogs. Moore Animal Welfare has also asked for dog/cat crates to be used at the Cleveland County Fairgrounds. These items can be taken to the Cleveland County Fairgrounds or the Norman Animal Welfare located at 3428 South Jenkins
