We’re a little late getting these dates posted for y’all, so without further adieu, here ya go! For your planning pleasure, listed below are the dates that we will be closed for vacation. There are as follows:
As some of you may know, Jessie is a Board Member for Never Cry Wolf Rescue and Adoption (NCWR&A), and one of her passions is helping people understand wolf behavior, which is completely contrary to the well-known myth and folklore surrounding these majestic creatures.
Meet Timber. He’s a Wolf Ambassador for NCWR&A. He is very shy, a typical wolf trait. He is also very loyal, loving, playful and sweet. In this particular photo, volunteers were working on the grounds of NCWR&A painting, filling in “wolf holes” (this den of Timbers was left alone) and doing much-needed work around the facility. Timber was terrified of them and the noise they were creating by filling in “wolf” holes, painting, etc. so he retreated to his den where he felt safe and secure. Jessie had been vigil on the outside of the den trying to coax him out, letting him know that he was safe. He eventually made it out of his hole but as soon as he heard a loud noise, he was in that den faster than you could blink your eyes!
Wolves are afraid of humans and yet they are being senselessly slaughtered daily in so many states. There are wolf aerial shootings allowed in states such as Idaho and Alaska; there are wolf hunters out there killing them for their skins; they are used for target practice by being captured in traps left to bleed slowly to death all the while in utter agony. All of this is going on with no protection in sight unless they can be placed BACK on the Endangered Species List…a list they should’ve never been taken off of to begin with!
Humans are the ones to be afraid of! The pride, the arrogance, the ignorance…a perfect concoction creating, within the human race, maleficent, contemptible individuals.
If you’re a wolf-lover stumbling upon this post, check out defenders.org. They are doing their absolute BEST at keeping the public up-to-date with anti-wolf laws, as well as, the senseless slaughtering that is currently taking place in so many states under the guise of “protecting” the [public] and their interests.
Please raise your voice and take a stand for the wolves!
Starting Saturday, the 10th of September, you will be able to see members of Never Cry Wolf Rescue and Adoption’s wolf-pack members. They will be back at Apple Hill kicking off this year’s Autumn season full of fun and howls.
Jessie Riggs, owner of KYPSAH Pet Services, is an active member of Never Cry Wolf Rescue and Adoptions and takes great pride in helping other members and/or volunteers of NCWR&A educate the public about the true nature of the wolf with intent to dispel the myths and legends that has aided in the noted generational paranoia of these truly remarkable creatures.
As a token of our gratitude, for those who give an in-person monetary donation to help support the wolves and efforts of NCWR&A, we are giving those people 15% off pet services (offer expires on May 31, 2012)! At the time of your donation, please ask for a donation receipt which will be necessary to show in order to claim this discount/offer. Offer Restrictions: Of course, this offer is not valid with other current offers and discounts we have and is only valid for areas within our service coverage area. One offer per person and/or household as well.
Come out and see Jessie, the wolves and other members of NCWR&A at Apple Hill starting tomorrow! And, yes! You can even pet the wolves for a $20.00 tax-deductible donation. Woot hoot!

We had a great week off just spending time as a family and unplugging for a while. It was a much-needed break and now we’re ready to tackle your pet-sitting needs and see all of our “foster” fur-kids (a term we use to denote the special pets we have the opportunity of taking care of).
During our family’s vacation, among a few other things, Jordie and Jessie went to help Sam Blake of Never Cry Wolf Rescue and Adoptions with the wolves. We thought you might like to see a couple of pictures along with a video, so check them out below.
Defenders of Wildlife are on the case of trying to stop anti-wolf legislation, as well as, educating us, the people, on just what legislative turns are being taken to eradicate our wolf population. Read this article.
As far as we’re concerned, if Congress thinks they have the right to dictate which animals have the right to exist and which ones don’t, what’s to stop them from writing legislation to exterminate breeds such as Pit Bulls, German Shepherds, Akitas, Chihuahuas and the list goes on? Your companion could be marked for death next. Please take a stand against anti-wolf legislation, among many other pieces of anti-animal, preposterous legislation, for sad-to-say, the wolves are just the beginning in the race for humanity to control, by means of extermination, that which we have no right, too.
Dante passed this past Sunday. He was a beloved member of his pack and the pack’s Alpha-male. He was also a true friend to Sam and Danielle of Never Cry Wolf Rescue.
He touched the hearts of so many who knew him and educated people of the true elegance that speaks of the wolf.
He will be forever missed, never forgotten and always in our hearts.

A great day was had at Never Cry Wolf Rescue yesterday. Americorp was on-site helping with maintenance projects including painting the totem pole. It was such an awesome day!
Jessie and Jordan had the task of just playing with the wolves. Such a hard job but someone had to do it 😉 All joking aside, hanging out with the fur-kids was such a blessing–as always.
Roger helped other volunteers, as well as, Americorp with yard duties.
This all…for the love of wolves.
For more information about Never Cry, please visit their website at Never Cry Wolf Rescue or catch them on their Facebook page.
Timber, an Ambassador of NCWR&A, is one of Jessie’s wolf friends. In this video, Jessie is playing “Find Me” with Timber who has no problem of course locating her whereabouts.
Timber is going on two-years-old and won’t be fully-grown until he’s three. Weight-wise, he’ll probably get somewhere in the neighborhood of 180-200 lb.
You can see Timber and/or some of his other pack-mates if you attend one of NCWR&A’s events. Just check out the calendar on NCWR&A’s website to get an idea of where they’re going next. Or, you can feel free to contact Jessie via email at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information. She works closely with Sam and NCWR&A and would be able to field questions for you.
Jessie will be placing wolf facts up on KYPSAH’s site, as well as, placing up a wolf topic under our FAQ page in the near future. So, if you have questions about this regal animal, she welcomes all.
The Riggs family has a wonderful time every year participating at events held at Apple Hill in Camino, California for Never Cry Wolf Rescue and Adoption. We are always thrilled to see our KYPSAH friends during these events, too, who come out to support us–and the wolves!
Never Cry Wolf Rescue educates the public with respect to true wolf behavior, as well as, rescues them from shelters and often abusive situations, rehabilitates them and rehomes them to loving families.
Jessie Riggs and/or members of her family are on-hand at the events…as volunteers of Never Cry…answering questions posed while taking in the intoxicating aroma of the apple pies baking in the distance (you’ll probably see Jessie in the cage with the wolves, too). It’s so much fun! And, hanging with the pack is the “icing on the cake” for Jessie and her family
For more information on the rescue efforts of Never Cry Wolf Rescue, we encourage you to visit Never Cry online.
We, at KYPSAH, are proud to assist them in their ongoing, compassionate cause of rescuing these beloved animals…animals that are very close to our own hearts. Therefore, look for more media entries as we further assist Sam and the pack in the rescue adventures and education of the public with regards to wolf behavior.
